Regattas

Some of CRAB’s guests want to take sailing to a higher, more competitive level by participating in sailing regattas. CRAB currently offers four regattas in the Annapolis area: two for recovering warriors, one in the Spring and one in the Fall; the Don Backe Memorial CRAB Regatta is for disabled sailors and hosted by the Annapolis Yacht Club in June; and The CRAB Cup which is open to all sailors and hosted at the Eastport Yacht Club in August.

While the CRAB Cup looked different this year with the absence of the post-race party, it was still a record-breaking success. We are extremely grateful to everyone who donated, volunteered, and helped out in every way.

Recovering Warriors

We offer specially arranged sailing and racing events for recovering warriors and their families.  In cooperation with veterans organizations and foundations, CRAB has offered two-day sailing clinics specifically for recovering warriors to learn to sail and race. We are happy to schedule sails for individual family members/friends and group sails for multiple people.

The Don Backe Memorial CRAB Regatta

This regatta is held every June and uses CRAB's fleet exclusively. Sailors with any kind of disability can come compete in a smaller scale race. Great for beginners and experienced sailors alike.
