On Friday, May 22, 2015 three quadriplegic sailors sailed 26 miles in Steamed, one of CRAB’s adapted 20 foot Freedoms. With winds gusting over 20 knots, they sailed from Under Armour’s dock in Baltimore to Annapolis’s Sandy Point State Park in just under four hours.

Lance Hinrichs, Josh Basile, and Patrick Rummerfield were on a mission to raise funds for the purchase of a mouth controlled “Sip n Puff” system for sailboats which allows an individual with no physical movement in their arms or legs to control a sailboat with just their breath.

They also wanted to raise awareness about sailing opportunities for disabled sailors. Their adventure was a tremendous success.
