Tarrant “Tarry” Lomax is the founding member and principal of Tarrant H. Lomax, Esq., P.C., a law practice located in Eastport.  Licensed in Maryland, Colorado, and the District of Columbia, Tarry has focused his practice on civil matters including contract, land use, maritime matters and litigation.

Tarry received his undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri.  After three years serving on various Naval destroyers, Tarry taught marine engineering at the United States Naval Academy, and attended George Washington University Law School at night.  Prior to relocating his office to Annapolis, Tarry was a principal of Rhodes, Dunbar & Lomax, Chtd. with offices in the District of Columbia and northern Virginia.

While teaching at the Naval Academy, Tarry became actively involved in sailboat racing.  Over the years he has owned sailboats in the 30-42-foot range, and has sailed extensively on the Chesapeake Bay, in New England and the Caribbean.  The past 25 years has included multiple Annapolis-Bermuda, Newport-Bermuda, Annapolis-Newport and other off-shore races.  Tarry still conducts navigation seminars for the Annapolis-Bermuda and Newport-Bermuda races. He currently owns a 23-foot Mako power boat.

Tarry has been married to his wife Eva for 35 years.  An accomplished sailor in her own right, they met as competitors in Chesapeake Bay yacht races.  They have one son, Charles, a senior at the United States Merchant Marine Academy, an accomplished junior, high school and college sailor, and co-captain of the college sailing team.

Tarry became involved with CRAB as a supporter of the annual Boatyard Bar & Grill Regatta benefiting Crab Regatta and as chair of the City of Annapolis Maritime Advisory Board.
