Brad was introduced to CRAB in 2003 when his good friend suffered a life altering accident leaving him paralyzed and confined to a wheelchair. CRAB proved to be a life-line, allowing Brad to act as the able bodied sailor supporting his friend in the Don Backe Memorial CRAB Cup Regatta.
Joining the Board in 2016, Brad has brought his entrepreneurial energy to CRAB from his two decades of working with start-ups and high growth companies. His work experience ranges from travel, wireless, fitness, wellness, digital marketing and real estate. Brad has proven to be natural collaborator executing on a shared vision. This philosophy has made an immediate impact on new programs like the Skippers Challenge, a virtual fundraising competition in conjunction with the Annual Boatyard Bar and Grill Regatta. He has managed to double the fundraising in just its second year.
Brad is currently the Co-Founder & CEO of WhoHub, a technology start-up based in Alexandria, VA that allows real estate brokers and their agents an easy way to share their favorite service providers among themselves and directly with their clients. Prior to WhoHub, Brad held various senior executive roles in business development, sales operations, product development, and customer experience. He was a founding executive from 1997 – 2006 at InPhonic, a high growth wireless company that ultimately went public on the NASDAQ in 2004. He left to transform an idea into a patented fitness product called JumpSnap, selling it worldwide and in the US. In the process, he authored a book titled The Ah Ha’s of Weight Loss, which compiles the common-sense approaches to weight loss based on his own experience.
His love of sailing started in the early 90’s sailing on his good friends fully restored 1976 Catalina 27 on the Severn River. That sailboat eventually became Brad’s and he donated it to CRAB. Mostly a cruiser, he upgraded to a Beneteau 32 which also doubled as his office in the early days of building his JumpSnap business.
Brad, his wife Susan, and their four girls live in Davidsonville, MD. The family has used CRAB to teach their four young daughters the value of philanthropy and giving back through volunteering. Part of a multi-year strategy, the girls have already taken to the excitement of being involved in CRAB and sharing it with their friends.
Brad is a proud graduate of Penn State University where he studied Hotel, Restaurant Management.
