Many of CRAB’s guests want to take sailing to a higher, more competitive level by participating in sailing regattas. CRAB currently officers four regattas in the Annapolis area: two for recovering warriors in Spring and Fall; the Don Backe CRAB Cup Memorial Regatta is for disabled sailors and hosted by the Annapolis Yacht Club in June; and, the Boatyard Bar and Grill Regatta benefiting CRAB which is open to all sailors and hosted at the Eastport Yacht Club in August.

Boatyard Bar & Grill Regatta

The 2017 BB&G Regatta to Benefit CRAB was a huge success! Thanks to everyone who donated to the Skippers Challenge, the the paddle raise or in other ways. 77 boats registered for the race with over 310 crew participating.

Following the race, more than 600 ofCRAB’s friends and supporter gathered for a great party and music by Misspent Youth at the Eastport Yacht Club.
The Skipper’s Challenge and Paddle Raise this year generated record amounts. CRAB will be
purchasing a new Beneteau First 22A (A for adaptive) sailboat with the proceeds and the remainder will go to support program operations.

Recovering Warriors

We offer specially arranged sailing and racing events for recovering warriors and their families.  In cooperation with veterans organizations and foundations, CRAB has offered two-day sailing clinics specifically for recovering warriors to learn to sail and race. We are happy to schedule sails for individual family members/friends and group sails for multiple people.

The 2018 Spring Recovering Warrior Sailing Regatta is April 28th.

Please call the CRAB office at 410-266-5722 or email to get more information or register for one of our sailing programs.
