Ian Palmer is currently the CEO New Energy Equity, a renewable energy development company that he founded with four partners in 2013. Prior to entering the solar and renewable energy industry, he had a 20 year career in the satellite communications and telecom network industry where he managed business divisions, ran business development teams, and operated several different technology companies.
In 2008, Mr. Palmer joined 3Di Technologies as CEO and managed the company in their Middle East and global satellite business during a period of rapid expansion. The company was sold to L-3 Communications Corporation (NYSE: LLL) in 2010 and Mr. Palmer remained as Division President with L-3 until 2013. Prior to joining 3Di Technologies/L-3, Mr. Palmer served as executive vice president at KVH Industries, Inc. (NASDAQ: KVHI), from 2004 to 2008, and from 2000 to May 2004 as KVH’s vice president of satellite product sales. He served in a variety of sales and business management related positions at KVH from 1993 to 2000, during a time of rapid company growth.
Prior to KVH, Mr. Palmer worked at Union Trust Bank in foreign exchange. He received a BA in International Relations and Economics from Boston University, Magna Cum Laude, and National Honors.
